About the Role
Reporting directly to the Quality Team Leader you will be assisting the department with programming, setting and operation of CMM Machines and perform visual and dimensional inspection of machine and sourced components.
- Program and conduct thorough manual, CMM and 3D scanning inspections on various component at various stages of production to ensure adherence to the ISO90001:2015 standards.
- To accurately document inspection results by completing reports and logs – ISIR & FAIR’s, non-conformance reports etc. – summarising re-work and inputting data into quality databases.
- Carry out the inspection of components in accordance with the specification given in the route cards / customer drawings / instructions.
- The ability to liaise closely with production and engineering team to discuss inspection results and improve product quality.
- Working with the QA team, you will assist with the calibration of all measuring tools, ensuring compliance with calibration tolerances and performing checks at designated intervals.
- Maintain a working knowledge of quality assurance procedure requirements as they apply to inspection and manufacturing operations.
- Ensure a clean, tidy and efficient inspection environment, adhering to good housekeeping principles.
- Ensure compliance with H&S Management Systems requirements Environmental and Quality Management Systems requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Perform any duties as requested by the Quality Team Leader
- Assist other personnel with key tasks as requested.
Requirements
HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification
- Min 5 years’ experience in a similar quality role within high precision engineering
- Experience with ISO9001:2015 is essential and AS9100 is preferred
- Experience of ISIR/ FAIR requirements
- Good customer/ supplier liaison essential
- Able to demonstrate experience using hand-held metrology instruments.
- Experience in programming CMM Mitutoyo using MSCosmos (preferable) or PCDIMIS
- Experience of programming and utilisation of a PCDmis 3d scanner
- Proficient in the use of MS Office application such as Word and Excel to plan/schedule.
- Experienced using RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA
